Hi there,

As a science student, 15 years ago, my first summer job was to work at a huge Kodak facility to prepare the different chemicals for the smaller labs to process their negs. I decided to try developing my negs at home (amazing how the smell can take you back in time...) and here is my first result:

I went for Rodinal 1:100 stand developed during 1 hour. Film is Arista Edu ultra 100.
I had tried a normal dev the day before but had an issue with dust that messed up the neg badly (a dumb move from my side with ventilation... that let go dust instead of sucking it up).
Anyway, i'm still dealing with too much dust and scratches, even though i've been really carefull, but i have hopes i'll improve. I have to say it's quite the magic to switch on the light in my restroom and see the neg bathing in fixer :)

In the end, it looks like self developing my negs is a LOT of hassle, but also a lot of fun.

Any comment and critics are welcomed. - I think i'll try to reshoot the same picture with a little more room on the left and the top of the statue..., and maybe some horizontal tilt too :) -

I took 5 minutes in photoshop to erase some dust spots and 2 or 3 smudges i'm still wondering where they come from. Level and contrast.
