210 vs. 240 G-Claron aperture scale

I have a 210 G-Claron in a Copal #1 shutter. I recently purchased a set of 240 G-Claron cells. I have determined that the cells will pop into the Copal #1 shutter without any issues and maintain the overall length requirement of 53.3mm.

My next question is this:

Can I use the same aperture scale for the 240mm that is already mounted for the 210mm?

I did do a search and I found a thread from photo.net that just served to confuse me even further.

I would like to find another Copal #1 with the proper aperture scale, but until then, this will have to do.

I seem to recollect hearing that Calumet can supply the proper scales for G-Clarons. You might give them a jingle.

You will want to multiply your f number by 1.14. This gives you less than one half a stop difference. For example a f/22 setting will give you an actual f/25.14. If I were using print film I would use the shutter setting and I would adjust my metering procedure through experience. It would be more difficult with slide film because you need to be more precise with your exposure.

I am only shooting B&W neg film for pt/pd printing. I will err on the side of over-exposure. Thanks! :)

It's a 1/3rd stop. So if you actually wanted f22, go to f22 on the scale and open 1/3 stop for the 240 cells. Also mix and match. Put the 240 front cell with the 210 rear cell. You'll have a nice 225mm. Just thought I'd throw that out there for the sake of uber-confusion. :cool:
