HI, just received my new Technika 4x5 and seems that neither my Linhof and Cullmann stative are strong enought for the camera.
I'm thinking to buy a studio tripod and I'd like the Cullmann Titan 400, anyone have experiences with this beast?
Any other suggestion for a bomb proof tripod are welcome, the weight is not an important factor, I will keep it in the studio so I need just a very stable and well built tripod.
Thanks.
Giorgio

How's about a Gitzo Studex? I think that's the 13xx series this week.

For studio use, nothing beats a true studio stand (FOBA, Cambo or the like), I don't think you can get much more stable.

Cullmann 400 is an excellent tripod.

I have been using it with great joy and ease in and out of the studio for various professional photography (http://www.yaalherman.com) uses. You can use it in water (up to 50cm), its fast to open/close.
I also used it for large scale panoramic photography (http://panorama.yaalherman.com/en/?page_id=397) and believe it or not: wedding photography (http://invisible.co.il) - since its fast, solid and stable. Its heavy enough to provide stability, yet light enough to carry around.

Cullmann must be terrible at marketing because their products are excellent, yet they have minor market exposure.

Linhof 003317, 003319, Linhof Heavy Duty Pro and Linhof Profi III tripods will all hold anything 4x5. And that includes the 22 pound Linhof Kardan GTL AMS camera. And that weight is without lens.
