I will be off this board from next week until at least June. I am taking on a personal photo project in an old ghost town in Idaho. Will be living there through the winter. Power is from solar cells & 12 volt storage batteries. Enough to power the green safelight & allow my developing & processing for the 8x10 film on Azo. A power inverter will help with some things as well.

I am offering a one time deal to help with the cost of the stay during the winter. (Propane isn't cheap)

Anyone who is interested can get a 100 sheet box of 8x10 Azo, grade 2 and a 100 sheet box of Photo Warehouse Ultrafine 125 film(Or freestyle 125 Arista) and in exchange I will print, mat & mount & send you an 8x10 print of any of the best of the images I get during the winter stay. When I come out next summer I will have finished work and will scan & post at least 5 images for you to choose from. Choose the one you like & I will send it to you.

For info or to send paper/film please contact me at Dan Smith, c/o Silver City Gallery, 84 Washington, Silver City, Idaho. (no zip code... the postal guys don't even have it listed for itself. If you want a zip code it would be c/o The Idaho Hotel, Box 75, Murphy, Idaho 83650. UPS says they deliver to the town during the winter. I will believe it when I see it. Otherwise the hotel address is good as the owners of the hotel come in by snowmobile at least every other week during the winter. A trip of about 25 miles.

I will have my old backcountry skiis & snowshoes to get around & the 8x10 & 5x7 cameras. Will have a good time & am looking forward to images of the old mining town during the snow season & through the spring.

If you have any questions feel free to drop me a line. This is a good chance to get an image or two for quite a bit less than I normally charge.

I enjoy many of the posts on this list & am especially glad it is now independant & free once again. Will be back on next year to see what I have missed & if something in the market is good enough that I am tempted to trade in the old Deardorffs.

Would you consider taking my wife?

Might consider the wife if she comes with 20 pounds of Amidol & about 10,000 sheets of Azo.

Should be a good winter and an even better one if we get a lot of snow so it is nice & quiet & the buildings look nice all winter long.

On the film & paper for a print, I am serious on it. This comes out to a lot less than I normally sell prints for. I am paying for this one with time & shooting & selling work next year & longer off what I get this winter so if anyone wants to take me up on the offer I will welcome it. Food isn't cheap. Ditto on propane.
