Gitzo 3 way head stiffness

I have a Gitzo 1270 M low-profile 3-way head where the lower tilt (the shorter tilt knob) is way too stiff. Is there an adjustment for this? None is obvious to me.

I'm afraid I can't be a big help, but I do have the next size up the 1370M. While I do like the head, it is a bit grabby and I've read of others that have stated the same. I'm not sure how tight yours is, but you could try contacting Bogen at: http://www.bogenphoto.com/service/service1.htm#repairs if your in the US or Gitzo if not.
