Thought I'd mention a show that I caught while I was in New York last weekend, which should be of interest here. The Danziger Gallery is showing 80 photographs by Edward Steichen, printed by George Tice, as well as 12 of Tice's own pictures.

The samples on the gallery's website are reasonably representative of what's being shown. If you've been to Danziger before, but not in a while, he's moved to a much larger space - this sort of show would have been pretty much impossible for him at the old location.

EDIT: Should've mentioned that it's up through Oct 29.

Thank you. I don't remember ever seeing Tice's prints.

We are planning to be in NYC at the end of next week, and I will put this show on the list of things to do.

I am curious about the comment that the prints are by Tice. It is my understanding that Tice was hired to do the Steichen prints, but actually had a young assistant who did most of the work under his supervision.

And there was one image that they had concluded had to be printed on a specific paper that was no longer being manufactured. After making test strips and test prints, they were left with only one sheet of that paper left to make the one remaining print needed for the set. That's calling it close!

Very nice. Thank you for sharing. Unfortunately, I'm on the Left Coast, but off to Santa Fe next week for the B&S workshop -- still to far from NYC.
