My M1 Scanner is no longer focusing properly. Does anyone know where to get it repaired?

Thanks.

You might call the people at Midwest Photo. They promoted and sold these more than about anyone else. Maybe they have found someone who does repairs. The last time I inquired, Microtek in the U.S. did not repair scanners anymore, even if under warranty (you were offered a re-certified unit in exchange if you had a valid warranty issue).

I have an M1, and, although it works fine now, if it died or needed service, I'd dump it for a 700 or 750 in a second, thanks to Microtek's lack of support.

Hi Dan,
I was having a similar problem with my M1 scanner, after 3 years and close to 2000 scans, it was no longer focusing, I ended up sending it to California for repairs after contacting, Microtek support ( see drew's post ). They were good to deal with, and got my scanner fixed within a few days, it turns out the focus wasout of adjustment also the CCD, so it didn't need any new parts, I have just got it back and it seems to work just fine, no re-scanning to get a better focus. The shipping was a killer though, there and back cost me more than the repair ( I live in Canada ).
