Hello

I am new to this forum and also to large format photography, developing and printing, so bear with me. Also sorry about the length of this question.
I have an opportunity to buy a canon image prograf opt 700 Which has been taken from a working environment, but has been stored for a few months. The ink cartridges have been taken out for safe keeping but the seller can not confirm Working condition. He has asked me to test it before purchase and I have no idea where to start. I need to take a Laptop, paper and an image to print, and I know the printer head is the most expensive and important part.

My questions
Which paper do I take
What do I look for to ensure the printer is sound especially the head
Do u need to do any preparatory work on the printer beforehand as has been sitting around.
Any other advice would be very welcome.
