i'm thinking of trying the jobo drum for pmk pyro on a roller base for 8x10 negs. It would be using the 3005 drum for this maneuver. I would also like to know if anyone has used the 2830 print drum in this setup with PMK and the roller base. Would the 8x10 BTZS tubes be an alternative? I've heard that the BTZS tubes don't work very well with pyro developers(edge marks on film). Please help so I know what to invest in. thanks

Larry,

I process my 4x5 and 8x10 negs in Jobo Expert Drums. I use PMK and Rollo Pyro. PMK needs to be split into two equal volumes. First you process for 1/2 the require time, then pour out the pmk and add the balance to complete the processing time.

Rollo Pyro seems to stain more evenly in the Jobo and does not need to be split in two. I pre-soak all negs in Sodium Metaborate (1/2 tsp / liter of water).

However I do get excellent results from both formulas.
