I finally bit the bullet and put my A-E on my Pacemaker. I had cobbled a board together, but wasn't happy with it, so I bit the bullet and bought the Jo-Lo board. Now to get the rangefinder dialed in and I'll be set. :)

So at f/2.5 how do you manage that 1/4000th shutter speed with a shutterless lens and Crown Graphic body?

With magick!

I wish I could use my Crown, this dude is heavy! My forearms will put Popeye to shame after a summer of hefting it.

Now you know at first hand, sorry, at left hand, why I never ponied up to have my 6"/1.9 Super Six set up for my 2x3 Speed. It would have been a wrist-breaker.

Enjoy your monster.

You could always use ND filters, but finding one big enough might be a problem (and expensive). Gels would be cheap, and can be cut to any size, but not exactly ideal optically... Wonder if X series Cokin filters would fit?

Your picture shows a Crown, at least I don't see any shutter controls on the side of the camera....

When I had one I used a block to support the lens.

The shutter release is the rectangular block on the right side of the camera [left side in the photograph].

Hmm…*I was wondering why you thought it was a Crown. I DO have a crown, but don't use it too much, have more fun with this rig. :) I shot a few Fujiroids with it yesterday, I'll give it a real workout tomorrow at a family gathering.

Really, guys... photographers are supposed to have *eyes* I thought, generally speaking! The "Speed" is clearly visible on the front standard in Michael's photo. :p It's even more visible than the FP shutter housing.

Does the Front Standard hold up ok with this lens on it? I always though it seemed a little dubious to have such a heavy combo on a Speed Graphic.

It seems to hold up ok, My big problem is the weight of the entire rig. Twenty years ago this would have been a piece of cake, but these days I really can't shoot it hand held, I need the tripod. I really want to use it for outdoor portraits, so it should be on a tripod.
