Dear All,

Just a short note to mention that I've recently approved the final proof of this book for publication. Here are the details:

Camera Antipodea - Catalogue No. 1 / Photographs by Richard Mahoney
(Oxford: Indica et Buddhica, 2010). ISBN 9780473177911 (hbk).

The `street date' is 14 June 2011. This means that it is available straight away through Ingram but that one should allow fifteen business days for information to appear in all the usual distribution channels, Amazon, Baker & Taylor, Barnes & Noble, Bertrams, and Blackwell and so on.

Richard,
Well deserved congratulations. I am looking to book my copy and revisit my (distant) Canterbury memories, through your eyes.

Richard,
Well deserved congratulations. I am looking to book my copy and revisit my (distant) Canterbury memories, through your eyes.

Thank you Tony. Hopefully you might decide to return some day, once The Plains have become a little more stable perhaps ...

I made a few comments on putting together this book here (http://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/showpost.php?p=740175&postcount=3). Many New Zealanders remain, I think, a little hesitant to recognize the depth of our local talent. And it doesn't help that locals who parade their talent are often gently reminded to step back a little ;) I'd like to acknowledge, then, that this short book would have been impossible were it not for the splendid drum scans produced by Andrew Budd. It's a pleasure to be able to work with someone who pays such close attention to quality, rare too these days, when we are constantly seeing its errosion.

Kind regards,

Richard

Just a quick update. I was surprised to find this morning that Barnes & Noble have been especially quick off the mark in listing this title. It is already available with free shipping and a decent discount here:

BARNES & NOBLE | Camera Antipodea - Catalogue No. 1 by Richard Brian Mahoney | Hardcover (http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Camera-Antipodea-Catalogue-No-1/Richard-Brian-Mahoney/e/9780473177911?page=index&prod=univ&choice=allproducts&query=9780473177911&flag=False&ugrp=2)

P.S. It is becoming clear to me that print quality and service and everything else to the side, that rapid access to international distribution channels is perhaps the greatest advantage for any of us choosing to print and distribute one of our photography books through Lightning Source (Ingram). I'd like to underline this point as up till now I've been almost wholly preoccupied with the quality of their printing rather than with how I would actually be able to get the title into peoples' hands.
