3800 ABW paper size settings?

I'm having issues with Imageprint that I cannot solve so I've switched for the time being to the Epson ABW interface. Could this be a little more user friendly?

Anyway, the tones are printing fine using Mad Man Chan's profiles but I can't get it to take my custom paper size settings (11x17). No matter what I set in Page Layout page the preview shows 8.5x11 and the image is totally cropped. What am I missing? Ideas?

This is a 3800 with CS5 on Windows 7.

Kirk, are you setting the paper size in the Epson paper setup box as shown here?

I remember having this problem before and thought it had something to do with the interface there, but now I can't replicate it... Sorry I can't be more help.

ABW mode really has naught to do with paper size but you probably know that.

Did you select paper size A3 from the predefined paper size list?

I use both custom sizes and predefined sizes with my 3800 with no problems in ABW mode or not.

Eric's profiles (both color and ABW) do work rather well.

Yes, bad choice of words. I did not choose A3 because it is not exactly 11x17 right? Close enough, I guess, I will try it. thanks.
