I just tried scanning a bw TMY2 neg as a color neg with an epson 4990 (first time trying that) importing it with Elements 8. About 1/4 down the scan at the top of the window glass there appears a yellowish looking band (I'm colorblind so it could be another color) going across the entire image. What is this artifact and what can be done to prevent it in the future? I scanned it as bw negative and the band didn't appear.
