Thanks y'all!
Here's another take from the same session. Different camera and background. Whites are too difficult to control unless you're Ken Lee :)

Scott, is that some kind of obscure Russian folder from the 60's :)?

No, the camera in Scott's print must be from the Mid-East because the writing goes from right to left. Some obscure Semitic language, perhaps Hsilgne.

Its one of those there collodion images so you need to look at it like a gg. Should I submit it upside down to? :)

Doesnt seem to be a "code" insert on this forum.
But in short, you have to have both "IMG" tags on the same line.

A nice shot. I prefer the film version for its softness.

I do too. The orchids look like they were over sharpened in the digital. Also prefer the softer highlights.
Great image anyway.

Film: Ektar 100, 4x5
I put together a fruit snack for my wife and laid it on the counter. Looked down and saw this beautiful streak of warm morning light streaming across the plate. Ran downstairs, grabbed my 4x5 gear and took 4 frames.
I've been viewing quite a bit of paintings recently. Not from any specific period, but I would suppose starting with Modernism. I think that is influencing my eye for color and natural composition.

I really like this. Great tonality. I like the fragility of the stem juxtaposed against the much broader and heavier jug and cup. Beautiful

I really did not keep track of the attempts. But I would guess that it was something less than twenty tries. Thanks for your comment.

Me too. The film version looks too soft, like there was a problem with focus. I generally like a soft focus look but only when it's clearly intended to be soft focus. The film version looks like a mistake (not saying it was, just that's what it looks like).

This is more of an lens test, but anyway.. it kinda shows the lens does what it is supposed to do. Lens does, but the photographer doesn't. Theres a reflector in the image, focus missed & my lens shader is fading out the left side.

Thanks Donald!
I saw your Martin guitar photo and it inspired me to upload the lilies I just made. Your Martin 'axe' sure is pretty! I have an old Martin classical that I store and play an Ovation instead. One of the places I have always wanted to visit was the Martin factory in Nazareth, PA. Your axe sure is nice looking. ;)
Cheers,

Thanks for sharing all of your outstanding images, but in particular this one.

Donald. nice looking shot of a great instrument. I need to play my '68 D-28 more often. Only problem is my son who is a much better guitarist than I won't let me play it!! He can't put it down!
