Hello all,
I know it's not LF, but a friend of mine in Nashville had most of his camera gear stolen from his house yesterday. I don't know if it helps to get serial numbers out there, but here's what he lost:
- Leica M6 sn. 1739371
- Leitz Summicron 50/2 sn. 3198890
- Leitz Summicron 35/2 sn. 2275323
- Nikon S2 sn. 6139904
- Nikon 50/1.4 with the S2 sn. 350821
- Nikon F100 sn. 2273591
- Nikon D700 sn. 2260234
- Nikon D300 sn. 3092400
- Nikon 85mm lens sn. 421077
- Nikon 35mm lens sn. 530047
- Nikon 18-200mm lens sn. 2535564

Thanks...hopefully some of it will turn up

Hopefully your friend has a police report on file. Hopefully Metro PD has the time to make their rounds to the local pawn shops. Keep an eye on the Ebay and Craigslist.

Best of luck.

That Sucks. I'll keep an eye out on Memphis Craigslist.

I've had this happen in Vancouver and in MA. It makes me feel like someone has stolen my soul and my right to live. I found it difficult to get back into photography for a while. Then I was guarded and suspicious of everything around me. Really developed paranoia.
After several years I settled down. I suppose I'll go thru it all again some day - especially as we deteriorate in the direction of a third world country.

The good news is he has the numbers. Tell your friend to put an ad up on CL that he buys used cameras to see if the scum comes out from under their rock.

The Nikon 35mm sn 530047 and the 50mm Summicron turned up.
Luckily, he was insured...saddest part is that the thieves got all of his computers and all of his photo back-up drives.
