I recently printed these (oops, it's four now, can't change thread title!) images after a long spell of no-darkroom time. To be honest, I am still finding my feet with a view camera (being used to 35mm and medium format) but the process, and the end results, are certainly enjoyable. I simply wanted to share these in the image forum, C&C welcome.

Darn, it's hard to compose with a view camera. Everything looks so good on the ground glass, it actually stifles creativity and original composition!

I unfortunately have to make annoying small prints in order to fit them in my scanner, but I guess it's a cost-effective way of deciding which ones are worthy of printing bigger.

nicely done.

"river bed" gave me a chuckle.

i like that you kept the foreground in focus with them all....especially the tree.

Thanks, Eddie -

Ah, the virtue of the view camera. On the tree image, it's very deceptive, but the rock is rather small, and jammed right up to the lens. I used fairly extreme lens swing/tilt on that one, whilst crouching precariously underneath my terribly inefficient dark cloth, trying not to fall into the river (camera was basically on the edge of the river bank). I'm glad it came out fairly natural!

Man, I wish I had a wide-angle lens for certain images, like that one. Definitely on the shopping list :-)
