Hello everyone,

First post here.

Thanks to all who have shared knowledge and opinions on this forum: as a lurker I have found
it to be a vital source of information.

I've been experimenting with 4x5 for some time now - mostly studio compositions -
and am about to give 8x10 a try.

Got an 8x10 Bulldog kit to keep me busy this winter as well as couple of used holders
and expired BW and colour film for when the machine is ready.

Lens wise I have gone with a 300mm APO Symmar S gotten cheap (probably because of some Schneideritis)
and hopefully the Bulldog will carry the weight ok.

I decided against the compact lenses like the 300 Fujinon C or the 305 G-Claron because
working in the studio the smaller size is not a great asset for me and even though
I probably will not be able to take full advantage of the Symmar's larger image circle
with this camera, I do think there might be relevant difference in image quality.

A quick question for the long-timers here:

Does anybody still have the focus screen grid design PDFs that were on the Satin Snow website?
..any other usable grid would be ok too..

Thanks and my best to all,
Matteo

Welcome to group therepy, Matteo. :) The Bulldogs I've seen appeared to be fairly stable platforms, so I'd be supprised if you had any problem using your lens on it. Have fun with it!

Thank you Vick.

If it goes well I'll muster up the courage to share some results.

The grid PDFs are still available via the Internet Archive (http://www.archive.org/index.php). Here's a direct link to the Archive's record of the grid download page, formerly at http://www.satinsnowglass.com/html/downloads.html (http://web.archive.org/web/20071013183317/www.satinsnowglass.com/html/downloads.html).
