I bought a 4 x 5 camera at a photographer's yard sale and I was wondering how much something like this is worth based on today's prices.
It is a 4 x 5 Tachihara Field Camera.
It seems like it is in pretty good shape. Bellow seems a little saggy.
It has a new lens board fitted with a 135mm F=4.7 Shneider Xenar Lens
Pics Below
Much Appreciated!

Regardless of price, it is very cute!

several hundred depending on condition. Likely less than $600 though.

A new one was $429 in 1982, when I bought mine. Now they run about $600, I think; lens and board $125 tops. An excellent camera and lens setup- congratulations!

Check Ebay to see what they've brought in the past 30 days. That's what most of us do.

A similar Calumet wood-field without lens usually goes about $350 +/- on ebay. The tachiharas usually go for more - more like $500+/- without lens. The Xenar lens is a good one, albeit without much movement for 4x5, but doesn't add a huge amount to the value.

I don't mind. I bought it from someone who has no idea the value of the camera. I guess the seller thought it was so old that it couldn't even be used these days. I ended up buying it for $200. They me repeat, the seller had no clue of the value. A friend advised me that it was a steal. So I bought it.
