Arca Swiss Ball Head---Lubricant

My AS ball head is in need of lubricant as it sticks--what suggestions do you folks have for a good lubricant

I would never lube the AS ballhead. The ball rides in a plastic socket, and any lube would probably gum-up the works. It may be time to send it off to Precision Camera for a rebuild!

Just loosen the ball and use a dry, clean towel to wipe off the dusts while turning the ball to all angles. Take your time, maybe 15 minutes or so. I did this with mine and it worked smoothly again. Then my wife made a cover for it when not in use. It is still smooth after almost a year. You should try this before send it to Precision Camera.

I had the sticky ball syndrome once with my Foba Superball. I took it apart and cleaned it then used a tiny amount of dry graphite rubbed on the ball to lube it. Working fine ever since.
