I have the above lens, and the Copal 0 shutter just has a whole F stop scale.
There isn't any click in the movement up and down the F stops, and the shutter blades open and close in a smooth motion.
Does anyone know if this an original shutter for this lens?
Thanks.

Why do you think the Copal wasn't the original shutter? Many lenses don't have the third-stop scale marked, and as far as I know only Compur shutters have the "click in the movement up and down the F stops."

Copal shutters don't have clicks at the aperture settings.

FWIW, I just took a peek at my 135 Apo-Symmar, which I purchased new about 12 years ago. It has marks every 1/3 stop.

BUT - my Schneider lens brochure of comparable vintage shows a 150 Apo-Symmar in Copal with only full-stop markings. Evidently they've been supplied both ways.

Carol Flutot gives this link:
http://www.schneiderkreuznach.com/neuheiten/copal_e.htm
It says that beginning 2003 Schneider lenses will be supplied in Copal shutters with click stops at 1/3 f/ stops.

My most recent Schneider lens is a 58mm Super Angulon XL purchased in 2000. Anyone have a 2003 or newer Schneider lens that can confirm the Copal shutter has clicks at the 1/3 f/ stops?
David

My Apo-Symmar L 120 mm purchased new in 2008 with a 2005 production date has 1/3 f click stops.

I'm not sure how to do an attachment (can anyone tell me please?) but here is a link.
I would add that the question was asked out of curiosity. The shutter works fine.

Only the very new copals might have clicks, most of the copals doesn't have clicks.
This lens is made in the middle of 80s, so the aperture scale might be legit (I have seen a late copy of 120 symmar -s (in the 80s) with similar aperture scale). If this lens is a bit newer, I would say the aperture scale should look different. Just my thoughts, someone correct me if I am wrong.

That looks like the one shown in the Schneider brochure I have.

The serial number of your 150 dates it to around 1988. My 135 Apo-Symmar, which has the 1/3-stop markings, dates to 1995.

I've bought the newer style scales with thirds directly from Schneider in Germany two years ago for my Symmars 210/5,6 and 360/6,8.
Their act was fine, I even got a full refund for shipping insurance that I had not requested.
I don't remember the price, but it was affordable.

That's interesting. Thanks.
