Week after next I will be the proud owner of a Canon iPF 5000 printer. Is there anything I should know about using this printer? Tips? Tricks? Pitfalls?

I have seen large color prints from the printer I'm getting. The current owner knows how to get the best from the printer. I hope I can come close. I would really like to explore digital neagtives for alternative process contact printing. Will this printer do the job? Where can I get information on making negatives with this printer? I know about Pictorico transparency material. Are there any alternatives?

Thanks for your help.

The Canon iPF5000 has landed. Good grief! This thing is HUGE! The good news is that 6 of the ink bottles are full and the other 6 are 1/4 to 1/2 full. This will be fun!

Hello, I know this thread is pretty old, but trying to find some informations about printing digital negatives with Canon IPF as I decided to go with Canon over Epson, due to beter customer support and servicability of the the printer. The page on wikispace no longer exist. Was there anything specific about digital negatives?
