Here's a new photo challenge idea - photographing in a suspicious manner. Use your imagination, but it's got to be suspicious (ie, you should look suspicious while photographing). Make sure it's not actually illegal, of course. But definitely make it suspicious. The more so, the better.

I'll think of something and post back when I have a result to share.

Let's get to it.

I have a lot of that. Not so much with a view camera though... except for some sneaky urination. And gunfire.

this may have looked suspicious at a glance! (but all completely fake) I've posted this before I think. I want to do more of it, it was fun :) Shot on a speedgraphic, with mounted flash.

I wonder if a red or orange filter would've made the skin tones more ashen and improved the effect here.

A couple years ago I lived in the Washington DC area - you don't even have to look suspicious to get in trouble around there. I was taking a picture of this cute little tugboat, when the State Police showed up. No guns drawn, no tasers or handcuffs, but a curt warning sufficed. Maybe it had to do with that General Dynamics facility next door ...

I just got into an intense conversation with a friend of mine. He was shooting (photographing) petroleum tanks at a rather large facility here in town. He and his girlfriend were detained for quite a while while they checked up on them.

I have a laminated print of this article:

I carry it in my camera bag right next to my reciprocity failure chart.

Just last night I'm leafing through the Aperture book of Weegee photographs and now this shows up.
