Linhof Kardan Color 45s....accessories!

Hi everybody,

It is so beauty to get it, but I want to have a combo 5x7 or 8x10 set included, that who know about it please give me some recommendation.

Will the conversion 5x7/8x10 (any linhof series) kit fit on LKC 45s front back?
I can use extension rail for it?

Sorry Truong, the Kardan Color 45 resp. Kardan Color 45s where the budget-price beginner models. As I know the Kardan-Color 45s was only aviable in 4x5". The standards aren't interchangable with other models like the Kardan B. Also there where no extension rails aviable for this models.

No. Among other problems, you will need more rail and the 45S rail can not be extended and the 45S rail end caps do not come off the rail.

The Kardan 45 S was made from some parts also used for the Kardan Bi, like lensboards and 4x5" back, also used with the newest Linhof Kardan re (http://www.linhof.de/kardan-e.html) now aviable. The rail is nearly the same, but without registration grooves, screw and nut for mounting extention rails. Also the endstops are glued to the rail for the Kardan Color 45.

So I think it's easier to look for a Kardan Bi 8x10" with a reducing back either to 4x5" or 5x7" and another from 5x7" to 4x5".

When the B system was introduced Linhof also had two other camera systems. The 45S that will not do what you want and then the original Kardan Super Color system which will convert to 57 and 810 and did use the same rail as the B system. Unfortunately Linhof did not make many of these and soon discontinued it for the Kardan Super Color JBL and the later cameras.
