Dear collegues,
I am interested to buy an Epson film scanner (V700 or V750Pro). It is possible to install the scanning software from V750Pro on V700?
Thank you in advance for your reply,

I would imagine that the software would fit both models. Epson scan is free to download as far as I can tell and the third party scanning software can usually handle many different models of scanner.

Thank you for your quick reply!
I was thinking if I can install the Silverfast software (which comes with 750Pro) on Epson 700. I can imagine that Epson could block this because most of the users will buy V700 which is at least 250USD cheaper.

You probably could use SilverFast Ai on v700. In fact, it detects v750 as "V700" when running with v750. It is easy to check -- just download trial version for v750 and install it to use with v700.

"Epson sells this scanner in two versions: the V700 Photo and the V750-M Pro. It's the same hardware (except the V750 has an anti-reflection optical coating applied to the CCD glass and comes with a fluid mount accessory). The real difference is in the bundled software. Both come with Epson Scan software and Adobe Photoshop Elements, but the V700 includes LaserSoft SilverFast SE6 while the V750 adds Monaco EZ Color and SilverFast Ai 6."

So it all depends what features you want and how much you want to pay for them.
You can buy the software separately and there are wet mount kits available from other places too, but the anti-reflective glass would only be an option for the 750.
