Hi,

On page 25 of this PDF about Digitar lenses, what does Lens Exception mean?

Okay, read it again. In column two it talks about the widest lens (eg 48 mm with recessed lens board and wide angle bellows) so any wider than that in the Digitar ranger can't be used.

Don't bother - those Digitars only shoot 800 x 600.

Er, 800 x 600? I don't understand.

Some digital lenses have bigger ICs that are adequate for MF film sizes...

When I use my 6x9 back, I use Schneider 120mm Digitar lens. It covers 6x9 with limited movements. I bought the lens after directly communicating with Schneider engineers. It is frighteningly sharp, even in the corners of 6x9 and at f/22! Digital lenses have small ICs and are optimized at around f/8-f/11. I have compared the transparencies of the same scene produced by this lens with other modern 4x5 lenses I own using a 10x loupe. (I know it is not a controlled scientific test with a lens resolution target.) It is the sharpest lens I own.
