View Full Version : Rittreck 5x7
Hi. I can't seem to find much information on the Rittreck 5x7. Is there anyone who could tell me what it weighs, and what its front and rear movements are? Thanks in advance.
Use the search function and you'll find a wealth of information, e.g.,

I had already made use of the search function -it is only courtesy. Despite what you say -I don't know if you have actually read those threads you list- there isn't exactly a wealth of information regarding the Rittrek 5x7 and, unless I am being very clumsy, nothing specific on what I am interested in, i.e. weight and movements. Thanks anyway.
John: I realize my post above might have come across as somewhat offish. It wasn't meant to be, so please don't take it that way.
Hi Miguel, no offense taken. I used to have one of these and if I still had it I could have answered your questions forthwith. All I remember is that it was nicely constructed but much heavier than my Toyo 5x7 Metal Field, so I sold it. I'm guessing the weight was in the 10 lb range, but I remember nothing of the movements (it was, to me, one of those cameras that didn't feel subjectively "right" to me). I know there are a dozen or so owners of Rittrecks here, so one should hopefully answer your query.
On a hunch I did a search of my hard drive and found the description that I put on eBay when I sold the camera. All I needed was a bit of prodding:) :
Front: 90° forward, 15 degrees backward
Rear: 90° forward, 30° backward
Swings: Rear: 15° left and right
Shifts: Rear: 1.5” left and right
Rise & Fall: Front, 2” rise, 1.5” fall
Minimum Extension: 3" with flat lensboard
4x5 and 5x7 backs: 15"
WP back, 18”
8x10 back, 18”
Dimensions: 9.5 x 9 x 3.5"
Weight: 9 lbs
Wonderful. Thank you very much indeed.
