I got into digital two years ago so I’m still learning the ins and out’s and the what not’s of the digital world. I have a Epson R2400 printer that I love. The only issue that I have is the cost of the inks. When I make a print I usually make a run of a single image at different sizes to keep all the images looking the same. I could burn through a lot of inks. The cheapest Epson ink I could find is $11.95 ea. My question is; is there a cheaper third party ink that will work as good as Epson inks?

www.inkjetmall.com ; probably not cheap for occasional use, but definitely for volumeuse.

I'm using MIS PRO inks and they seem OK to me. But then I don't know any better.

I believe most refill ink is of China or Korea origin and those resellers you mention are marking them up significantly. I've got quotes like $1.90 per 200ml bottle of dye ink for my HP DJ 130nr. Actually let me copy a previous quote that i'd got for my other printer R2400 which i'm to sell soon.

1. Pigment ink for Epson 2400: $2.95--100ml/bot ; $5.70--200ml/bot ; $13.90--500ml/bot; $27.50--1kg/bot
2. CISS for Epson 2400: $10.6/pc(with ink), $8.8/pc(empty)
3. DHL shipping cost: Depends on your quantity

can give you the contacts if you're interested.

We've been using MIS inks (www.inksupply.com) for all our printers for years and have had no issues. I believe for the R2400 you would use the MIS Pro inks (an exact match for the original ultrachrome inks). Service at MIS has also been great thru the years. I'd buy a cheap external ink CIS on ebay (empty!) and fill it with MIS inks.
