I'm confused about lens use on Linhofs. Is it possible to use my existing LF len ses on an old Linhof 5x7 Super Technica IV, or do they have to be "cammed" lense s specially designed for that camera? In other words, can I attach my 210mm lens to the Linhof and then simply focus on the ground glass as I would with any oth er view camera? Thanks in advance for your input.

Yes. The cams are necessary only if you plan to use the rangefinder.

Hope Bob will chime in here.

Looking through my Linhof literature it appears that some earlier 5x7 cameras were calibrated to the cams only and not the ground glass. If you need to know before you acquire this camera I would call HP Marketing or Marflex and give them the serial number of the camera and they will be capable of accurately answering your question. You could also put on the lens in question and make an exposure and check for sharpness.

As I have told Ben and responded on another thread. Marflex is a better resource on 57 then I am. 973 808-9626

I have not had a problem using various lens with mine, the rangefinder has been removed.
