I've been asked whether I want one of his prints, which I do. I've got it narrowed down to 16 possibilities, which is not exactly as narrowed down as I'd like.
:-)

If you had a choice of a print of any of his photographs, which one would it be? Don't feel confined, if you are format agnostic, to East 100th Street.

Choose some of his early stuff from Paris or his Cony Island work.

IMO one of the greatest street photographs of all time by any photographer is the London street girl with the kitten. http://neworleansphotoalliance.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
That said, however, I'd recommend that you choose the image which you love the best, not the most famous, or what anyone else in this forum may say, or the most likely to increase in value. Collection of art should always be for your own pleasure!

Bill, you can assume that I agree with your second and third sentences.

Which doesn't mean that I necessarily disagree with your first sentence :-)

This one. It's hanging in The Afterimage Gallery in Dallas right now. I'd never seen it before -- it's an excellent photo.
