Hi everyone,
So if you have a Microtek you may know they have really bad Tech Support. Like a week for a copy & paste response....

So I am asking for help here ....

Take a look at the two scans and tell me what causes the lines that look like comb lines. The backlit one is 2 1/4 so the lines are smaller, but the one on the couch is 35mm so they seem giant. They travel with the movement of the carriage that I know... It was been that way from new.

Yes, I know about the hairs & dust, but that's not what I and worried about. smiles

Help!!

Steve

Do you get the same results with different software? The Microtek vs. Silverfast vs. Vuescan? You can demo Silverfast and Vuescan and get annoying watermarks, but you'll at least see if it's software related. I've found that Silverfast seems to do a better job of actually running the scanner hardware than Microtek's own software.

What SW are you using and have you updated to fix known banding problems?:)

Hi,
I updated to the newest Silverfast & cleaned the heck out of the inside and the banding reduced a lot. But they still are there.

I scanned in RGB and looked at the different color channels and the lines are different in each channel and move around when clicking the r/g/b channels.

I did try the Microtek app and the same thing happened. The Vuescan will only return static type scan. Hmmm...

Is there a ccd to clean or a chip of some kind?

Thanks for the help so far.
Steve
