I've posted this in the flowers thread too. Its not 1:1, but definitely in that direction.

LF macro can be an aching endeavor whose results often help one forget the pain.

This was one of those back-breaking, time-consuming set-ups.

(And perhaps a winning argument for a UV protection filter? ;) )

Tachi 4x5
Schneider 150/9 G-Claron
Ries J600 tripod w/ Manfrotto 488rc2 ball head
Manfrotto 454 micrometric sliding plate (w/ rc2 connection)
Velvia-50 (refrigerated old version)
1/250th @ f/22 (effective approx. f/32)
Somewhere near 1:2 magnification, maybe higher
Synced with ancient Nikon SB-22s speedlight (hand-held!)
Flash metered w/ my beloved Sekonic 308s
+1 ev flash compensation
Refurbished Epson 4990

Another one of that time consuming endeavours. And this one supposes to be flat! Enlarger lens (probably 150 mm), Linhof Cardan on Velvia (half darkslide method of creating two panoramic images on one sheet of 5x4 film).

Cheers,
Marko

Great bokeh Ken.
Thanks.

Even though Tessars and Heliars open to f/4.5, the aberrations lessen quite a bit once you get down to f/8 or smaller. Having a round aperture helps too of course: vintage barrel lenses are great. Too bad the modern manufacturers don't provide lenses with circular apertures.

Thanks for the kind words, Denise. I've been focused elsewhere lately but hope to get back into it soon.
