Hi everyone,
I am looking for a plate holders or original plate pack for a Tropical model Contessa-Nettel 871 series. Holder size: 5 inches X 3.25 inches. Thanks.

When it became Zeiss Ikon, it was called "Zeiss Ikon Nettel Teak Tropical Model" but they kept the 871 Code No.
I have not found 5 x 3.25 inches: the Zeiss Ikon June, 1930 catalog shows 871/7U @ 4 1/4" x 3 1/4" (or 9 x 12cm.), double dark slide, Code No. 1041.

There was an adapter with focusing screen to take single slides, Code No. 798/7 and single slides, Code No. 675.

The film pack adapter was Code No. 1051: it could be usful because it fits on the back.
(catalog then goes to 6" x 4" (or 10 x 15cm.))
For a plate back; HOPE FOR A JUNKER TO SHOW UP OR AN ESTATE SALE; IT TOOK TWENTY YEARS FOR ME TO FIND A COMPLETE 13 X 18CM. UNIVERSAL JUWEL.

Enjoy & good luck,
Bernie Kaye

Jerry,
This is on my mind: if your 5 x 3.25 inches is size of plate holder or the opening in camera back, then your film size is 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches (or 6 1/2 x 9cm.), the camera is Code No. 871/3Uwith Tessar f 4.5-4 3/4" lens and 871/3L with Tessar f 3.5-4 3/4" lens.-
Double dark slides Code No. 1040, Adapter with focusing screen to take single slides Code No. 798/3 and Single slide Code No. 672.
