Xraying of Mailed Film

I'm going to have to start mailing film for E6 development. So my question is does anyone know definitively if the USPS, UPS or FEDEX does routine xraying of packages within the US. I can't seem to obtain very straight answers from any of these organizations and at some of the lower levels of expertise they seem to be staffed by nitwits.

My questions are also relevant for ordering film by mail - but I can't say I've ever had a problem with fogging.

What precautions do you folks take when mailing exposed material for processing?
Any comments greatly appreciated.

Nate, I use USPS to send E-6 and K-14 films to Dwayne's. No problems.

Can't address UPS or FedEx.

A couple of years ago I read the terms and conditions of the USPS, FedEx and UPS and they all can XRay anything they want. Whether they do or not you'll never know, and in practical real-world use it is doubtful anyone has gotten damaged film on either end.

I shipped some film to Greece today that had "do not x ray" written on it. The usps guy pointed and laughed "we never x ray anything"

What for? If anybody blew up a parcel van, 90% of the population would file that under "serve them right for what they did to my ebay purchases". I.e. a mail delivery truck, sorting shack or even a freight plane plus crew of three is not worth while the explosives for any serious terrorist.

if said company has the ability to x-ray packages, writing "do not x ray" on the package is probably a sure way to get it x-rayed. multiple times.
