Pentax Spotmeter V with 2 batteries?

Hello, a fiend gave me a Pentax Spotmeter V. I found the manual in the internet, but it says that it needs three G-13 batteries. But currently it only has two A76 batteries. Is there something wrong?

Does it work? Mine takes a stack of batteries in a circular holder. I have 3 Energizer 357s in mine.

The battery check button indicates that the batteries are low (even with new ones). But I checked it with mi camera in spot mode and the reading looks OK.
