I need to scan a couple of hundred 35mm negatives. Is the MINOLTA DiMAGE Scan Elite Ⅱa reasonable choice? How does it compare to the Scan Elite 5400 II, apart from resolution, of course?

Thanks,
Kumar

I have a 5400 II. You can only scan SIX frames at a time, and it's a fairly slow process even at low resolution. When it's working, at high resolution the results are superb!
The high-end Nikon scanner has an (expensive) attachment to scan entire rolls of 35mm film. Wish I'd bought it instead of the Minolta, which is somewhat less than totally reliable.

It's a reasonable choice for a couple hundred negatives (as opposed to rolls). But I'd hit ebay and buy a second negative holder, the Minolta holders are rather fragile.
