I had the chance this afternoon to handle this camera up at Badger Graphics in Wisconsin. I haven't seen or handled a Chamonix in person, so I can't comment on the Chamonix but from what I have seen on this board, it's a very fine camera also.

The Shen Hao was remarkably light - weighs in at about 3 pounds. It locked down and was extremely rigid. The finish of the product was very fine and it seems to be finely made in all aspects. The focusing mechanism was smooth and stayed in place. All in all, it seems like a fine little camera, especially if one is looking for a lightweight
4X5. Price seemed fine - $650. Just wanted to let everyone know. And Jeff is great to deal with, also. Jim

I bought one from Badger's shortly before Christmas, but only today I got a Symmar 135/235 convertible mounted on the board. So hopefully I can get outdoors over the weekend to try out the ensemble. Purely from workmanship point of view, I agree this is a quite well made little camera.
