Fundraising Week & Silent Auction
We have been running this year's "fun"draising at Project Basho (http://www.projectbasho.org/fundraising/). So far with Insiderpages.com (http://www.insiderpages.com/fundraisers/Project-Basho-0812) alone, we have raised over $1200.00 We hope more people will join over this weekend to boost up the funds.
As a second wave of fundraising this year, we are scheduling a fundraising party along with a silent auction on December 7th. Photographers associated with Project Basho have donated prints and books for the occasion. We will be updating our website soon to show the donated pieces.
The silent auction party is on December 7th at 6 pm. Tickets are $20 which includes food and drinks. If you raise more than $20 with Insiderpages.com by the party, to show our gratitude, your admission will be waived.
We are working on other fundraising methods as well including a print sale of photographs by Tsuyoshi Ito. Please visit our website for more information on this year's fundraising.
ONWARD Deadline Approaching
The deadline for ONWARD (http://onward.projectbasho.org/) is quickly approaching. Again your submission must be postmarked by November 28th.
As long as your courier such as USPS, Fedex, UPS or others processes your package on November 28th, your submission will be considered. You can also drop off at our studio. There is a mail slot on the green door for drop off.

) titled "Landscape as Metaphor" this coming Sunday. This will be the last week to view these beautiful platinum prints on Gampi paper by Kurita.
Toyoda Hitoshi Presentation on December 11th
On the second Thursday of December, we are hosting a one night exhibition (http://www.projectbasho.org/lectures/#Lecture_Series) by Toyoda Hitoshi (http://www.hitoshitoyoda.com/). Toyoda is a photographer who exhibits his work exclusively with a projector in order to achieve a melancholy and transient feeling with his presentation.
This is a one-night only viewing and it will start at 7 pm. Please contact us to rsvp as seating is limited to 40 people. Admission is $10 for the general public and $5 for students and Friends of Project Basho.

Carbon Printing (http://www.projectbasho.org/workshops/2008fall/carbon-printing-workshop.html) (Friday, Saturday & Sunday, December 5, 6, & 7)
The carbon print is a direct transfer process where the initial image is transferred to a final support paper. The workshop will cover, making the carbon tissue, sensitizing the tissue, making the print and transferring the image.
