David Braum and myself, members of this forum, are honored to be included in an interesting new exhibit/book opening in Santa Fe this month at the Palace of the Governors' Museum. It is entitled Through the Lens: Creating Santa Fe and is the "first major photography exhibition in 25 years" from the Photo Archives at the Palace of the Governors/New Mexico History Museum, Museum of New Mexico, Department of Cultural Affairs. It is co-curated by Mary Anne Redding, Curator of Photography at the Palace of the Governors and independent curator, educator, and photographer, Krista Elrick. The exhibit opens Friday, November 21, 2008 with a reception, hosted by the Women’s Board, from 5 – 7 PM and runs through October 25th 2009. We hope to see some of you there. The book will be released in January 2009.

WOW. You guys have arrived! I've seen FA Photography shows numbering in the hundreds over the past 30 odd years but I've never seen a roster quite like this! I'd love to see this show! Congratulations indeed.

Thanks everyone. It is quite an honor.

Both Kirk and I are eager for the hardcover book that will be out in January.

Most of my family will be getting very late holiday gifts.

The opening was astonishing. At times there was a half hour long line to just get in, according to the curator and some of the guards it was one of the best attended openings ever. Definitely worth seeing, 113 artists, allot of great historic images and allot more contemporary work than I expected. It will be up through October 25th of next year so if you are coming to SF you should try to see it.

I went back this morning so I could actually see the show.

One of the security guards recognized me from last night. He said at times the wait was 45 minutes to get in, and they counted almost 1000 people. He said it was totally nuts on his end.

It's a wonderful show and I am thrilled to be part of it.

The book/catalogue is now available and I have to say that they did a fine job on it. I am very pleased to have been a part of it. Aside from the fact that one is looking at reproductions, I actually prefer the book in many ways as the presentation is more linear.
