Wait for the 17" models to be released, or pull a trailer!

Finally, they have automatic switching between black inks in 24"!

Wow, my poor Epson 4000 and 9600 are very jealous.

Interesting, these list "Automatic Black Ink Mode Switching" as a feature, akin to what the Epson 3800 has had for some time now. The reference document (http://www.epson.com/prxm/prxm_pdf/900_Series_SRG_2.0aE.pdf) for the new 900 series printers shows:

Photo to matte black switch: ~2 mins, ~1.13 ml ink used
Matte to photo black switch: ~3 mins, ~3.34 ml ink used

That's a vast improvement in time and cost from the current 4xxx and 7xxx series printers.

I just got my 7900 with the SpectroProofer a few days ago. A very different beast to the 7800 I previously owned. I'm still finding my way around it but first impressions are very favourable. It's also early days for drivers/firmware etc.

If anybody has any questions I'd be happy to attempt to answer them.
