Hello everyone. Just acquired a Cambo Classic 4x5" camera and facing the ethernal scanner dilemma. I own a Epson 4490 which does 120 film and a Nikon LS-20 dedicated 35mm, therefore I now need a LF capable scanner.

I am quite OK with the Epson 4490, which provides decent scans, once you learn how to use it, although I am not quite willing to dish out the amount Epson wants for a new V700, considering film is becoming more and more of a hobbist thing to me.

I really do not need more than 2400 DPI and Mustek's seem to be doing just that. Thing is, none uses it, so maybe it is unsuitable. Could not find anything on Dmin and Dmax, which is not very reinsuring, is it?

So, here I am, hoping to get some answers from this dedicated community. Can I go with Mustek, or shall I refrain from using film and only shoot paper negatives? That is what I am planning to do until I get a LF scanner, anyway.

Thanks everyone for any replies.

Giuseppe

P.S. ideally I would like to shoot colour film, though.
