I try to start with my broncolor FCM probe. It is connected with the broncolor FCM lightmeter.
I use it in a sinar 4x5 meterback.

Everything functions well ,instead of measuring shadow parts, equal to Zone III or IV.
If I try this ,the display shows "UNDER".

What can I do?

Has this probe only limited range ,or could there be a defect in the probe.
I compared the FCM with my Gossen lightmeter. They had nearly same results (only 1/10 th difference in the reading).

Hope somebody may give me a hint.

Probably a sensitivity issue. LF TTL metering loses at least 5EV meter sensitivity, i.e. five stops to F5.6, plus whatever you have stopped down to - make that f/22, and add two for zone III, and you will be under range whenever the lighting is less than meter sensitivity plus 12EV, which does not leave you much margin for anything but broad daylight.

I don't know the specs of the FCM, but I've even hit the sensitivity bottom in available light with the FM IV and Booster, which should be at least 4EV ahead of the FCM II (which in its turn should be more sensitive than the FCM).

Thanks a lot.
You gave me the solution:

The FCM probe is made for use with flashlight!
That's it.

I'll go for a test.
Than I will use it for my macro work - with flashlight .
Makes sense to use that for macro.

You helped me very much:cool:
