View Full Version : What printer would be suited for travel?

I've been contemplating the purchase of a printer to use when traveling to reenactments to meet demands for instant gratification for pictures. I do wet plate photography, but group pictures would sell much easier on the spot if I could put the prints in their hands before they leave an event.
I would also want an ink system that would have fairly good permanence and low glare and metarism.
Suggestions?

I use Kodak 1400 dye-sublimation printers for exactly that kind of use. I don't know if they are still available, but there are other manufactures. Mine is a 8x14" and I use four of them in tandem to produce a print in 1 1/2 min each or about 3 per min together. It's a great format if you plan on offering packages like 1@ 8x10 and 4 wallets, etc.
