How do quickload systems work? Like the Fuji "Neopan Acros-100 4x5" Quickload 20 Sheets Professional B&W Negative (Print) Film (ISO-100)" Does it eliminate the need for standard filmholders? Is there any other piece of equipment that you need in order to use the quickload system?

Thanks,
Don

Instead of multiple standard film holders, one Fuji QuickLoad holder is all that is required (or, a Kodak holder if you use the Kodak equivalent system). You can also use Polaroid 545 holders for either Fuji or Kodak film. There is some interchangeability between the Fuji and Kodak holders, but you need to be careful about which holder you buy. You can find several discussions about this via the search function.

There is a metal strip at the end of the QuickLoad sheets. This catches in the holder to allow the dark-sleeve to pulled to the end of the film for exposure. After exposure, firmly return the dark-sleeve to the bottom, seating it in the clip. Then, press the release button on the holder to remove the whole film/sleeve assembly.

When developing the film, remove the metal clip, the sleeve, and the extra bits of plastic, and process normally.
