Really Big Cameras
28-Feb-2008, 11:32
Really Big Cameras is now an official authorized dealer for Feisol tripods, ballheads, monopods and accessories. My first shipment of tripods and accessories from the manufacturer has arrived in Los Angeles and is currently being cleared through customs. I expect delivery either tomorrow (Friday 2/29/08) or Monday (3/3/08).

Eventually, I will be stocking the entire line of Feisol products, but my first order is limited to their most popular tripod models, the CT-3441S (http://www.feisol.com/english/CT3441S.htm), CT-3441SB (CT-3441S with the CB-30C (http://www.feisol.com/english/CB30C.htm) ballhead), CT-3342 and CT-3442 (http://www.feisol.com/english/tournment.htm). I am also getting small quantities of optional accessories (center columns, spiked feet and leveling bases) for these models.

I hope to add information on these products to my Really Big Cameras web site between now and Monday. In the mean time, specs, product photos and prices are available on the Feisol website (http://www.feisol.com/english/feisolen.htm).

The prices I will be charging are the same as those listed on the Feisol web site. However, customers who purchase from Really Big Cameras will not have to pay international shipping charges or US import duties. The price you will pay for Feisol products from Really Big Cameras will be the product prices shown on the Feisol web site, plus affordable domestic shipping charges. If you wish to take advantage of these lower shipping charges and avoid import duty and potential customs delays, do not place your order using the shopping cart on the Feisol web site. To place a Feisol order through Really Big Cameras, please contact me directly at sales@reallybigcameras.com.

I expect my initial order to sell out quickly, but more are on the way. I have placed several advance orders with the manufacturer and expect new shipments to arrive approximately every two weeks. So, if there are other Feisol products you are interested in, please contact me via email for approximate delivery dates.

Sincerely,
Kerry Thalmann

You're welcome. Thanks for the kind words of encouragement. I'm very excited about this opportunity. I was very impressed with the quality of the Feisol products the first time I saw them, and they have continued to improve their existing products and introduce new models.

Has anybody used RRS or Kirk QR plates with Feisol heads? I'd be interested in the CB50 if there is a source for 3/8" QR plates.

I can't get the links to the Feisol website to work. Will you be putting information on the tripods on your own website, Kerry?

Evan,

I don't have any on order at this time, but I will be getting new shipments from Feisol about every two weeks. So, if you'd like one, I'm sure I can add it to one of my upcoming orders.

Charles,

I will eventually have information on the Feisol products on my web site. In the meantime, try cutting-in-pasting this link into your browser's destination line:

Charles,

I just put up a table showing the specs for the Feisol tripod models I have on hand and on the way. This is just something I slapped together in MS Word this morning. For best viewing, you need a display that's at least 1200 pixels wide. I'll try to get more info up this weekend and a more browser friendly version of the table for those with smaller monitors.

The URL for the table is:

Please direct all questions to me at:sales@reallybigcameras.com.

Brad,

The current Feisol product closest in specification to the Gitzo 3530 is the CT-3371 (http://www.feisol.com/english/3371.htm) - although the Gitzo is rated for a higher maximum load capacity. The price for the CT-3371 is $319.00 + shipping without the optional center column - which has a price of $59.00. I don't currently have any CT-3371s in stock, but will be getting some with my next shipment in about 2 weeks.

Feisol also announced their new CT-3372 model at PMA08 (http://www.feisol.com/english/PMA08.htm) a month ago. Complete specs aren't available yet, but at 1.7kg (3.75 lbs.) it will be considerably lighter than the CT-3371 (2.2kg = 4.85 lbs.) and have a higher rated maximum load capacity. This new CT-3372 model isn't available yet, but I have some on order and should be getting them as soon as they are available in about 4 weeks. The price for the CT-3372 will be $499.00.

I have updated the Feisol Table (http://reallybigcameras.com/Feisol/Feisol_Table) at ReallyBigCameras.com to make it more readable by people with smaller, lower resolution computer screens.

I have also created a page with specs, pictures, descriptions and prices for the CT-3342 and CT-3442 Tournament Class tripods (http://reallybigcameras.com/Feisol/Tournament_Class.htm) and accessories. As well as a page with ordering instructions (http://reallybigcameras.com/Feisol/Feisol_Ordering.htm) for Feisol products from ReallyBigCameras.com.

These pages, and more, can be accessed through my top level Feisol page (http://reallybigcameras.com/Feisol/Feisol) at ReallyBigCameras.com.

After several months of testing and revising, Feisol has now announced their new, improved Standard Class tripod models (CT3301, CT-3401, CT-3402).

And, for a very limited time (through 3/18/08), they are offering special introductory prices on these new Standard Class models (http://reallybigcameras.com/Feisol/Standard_Class.htm). For the next five days, you can get the new, improved models at the old prices. After 3/18/08 the prices on these models will go up by 20 - 25% to reflect the increased cost of the higher quality raw materials used in these new, improved models.
