Hi,
We are running a Wet-Plate Collodion Workshop (http://www.projectbasho.org/workshops/2007fall/collodion.html) by Kerik Kouklis (http://www.kerik.com) next month at our studio in Philadelphia. There are some more seats left for the workshop, and now is the time to sign up for it if you are interested.
We had the same workshop in May, and everyone made great tintypes and ambrotypes. Again, it is not terribly complicated process, but it is a lot easier if you see someone's demonstration first to learn it. Kerik will guide you through from mixing chemistry to poring collodion on plates in a friendly manner.
