View Full Version : Rodenstock 300mm f5.6 - resetting aperture blades

I wonder if anyone has any experience in opening up the Rodenstock 300mm f5.6 Rodagon lens.

The front element unscrews from the rear housing for the rear element and the click-stop aperture unit housed within.

One of the blades is broken, jamming on opening and I wonder if a special tool is required to lift off the click-stop retainer and elevate the aperture stop housing out of the unit before resetting the 12 bladed aperture leaves.

There is an external screw which locks the aperture ring on to the aperture scale on the exterior of the lens barrel. I presume this could be unscrewed, thus releasing the clear plastic retainer within the aperture unit, and enable the rest of the aperture unit to be lifted out intact.

Any thoughts or experience on this will be appreciated.

Kind regards,

RJ
