Is there anybody outthere who has experience with the Epson V750 flatbed scanner?
The best would be a competition between the the V 750 and the 3200 because I use the 3200 and would like to improve the scan results of my 4x5" films dramaticly but I donīt have the space for a Tango :-)

Thanks Christian

You can do a search (found on the tool bar at the top of the page) there is a ton of info already on this forum. I like mine but I never had a 3200 to compare to. :)

Lennard, the V750 (and 700) is the 4th generation descendant of the 3200. Basically the same technology with many incremental improvements and technology tweaks. It will produce better scans than the 3200 but they are incrementally better not startlingly better.

I don't have the 750, but my impression from what I've read is that you might obtain about 10 percent better performance than that you can get from the 3200. Also, some have suggested here that you can do almost as well, perhaps even better, at least for 4 x 5, with the 4990. The 750 is packaged with some additional software, but you might do just as well, if you want that software, by purchasing it separately.

Search for previous discussions of the 750 for more details.

I have a 3200 and just got a V700. Haven't had time to do a direct comparison, but V700 seems to have better shadow detail quality on dense slides. Also, has height adjustments on film holders and digital ICE. For me the resolution is about the same because I scan 4x5 at only 2400 dpi.

I have used the Epson 3200, 3490, 4990, and now the V750 Pro. In all honesty, I haven't had the need for the V750 Pro except that the software for it is better than what they had for the 4990 (I ran into major software issues when scanning 4x5 with the 4990).

My next step is to get all of the fluid and such for wet-mounting my 4x5 film, but I haven't had the time and am not currently making prints that are large enough for me to warrant it.

Depending on how large you are wanting to print, the printer you are using, and whether or not you will wet mount your film are all factors in determining whether or not you should upgrade to the V750.
