Hello everybody,
I am looking for a hard case to carry a Toyo 810M . The case should be also able to carry a couple of film holders, a lens or two and some other various small stuff (meters etc.)

I am looking for aid from people who have a direct experience in carrying this monster cameras with hard shell cases, unfortunately where I live I have no chance to try and see any of these bags. For this reason I need to spot the right one and get it on ebay.

Thanks in advance for reading this message.
Roberto

I recommend a large Pelican Case with wheels.

Toyo makes an aluminum case for the 810 that allows it to hang from the monorail. Plenty of room at either end for stuff. They're a bit pricey, however, and don't have wheels. The larger Pelican cases are less expensive, but you'll likely need to dismantle the camera to fit it inside. If you go the Pelican route, pay close attention to dimensions. Another alternative is a large, rolling suitcase with your own foam inserts.

HI Roberto,

I have a Toyo 810MII (field camera). I spent some time looking for a case but did not consider putting everything in one box. The camera is heavy enough without lenses, film holders, meters etc. I now keep the camera in a case similar to a Tenba car case. and put the rest in another bag. The tripod also goes on its own.

I second the largest Pelican, it will take my Sinar P2 8X10 and the 4x5 with usual lenses and other necessary bits. It makes a good bench seat and is vertually indestructable, water tight and will float. Against: it is no lightweight and not cheap.

I put my Toyo 810M in a f64 backpack and it fits just fine. Easier to carry with the shoulder straps and the waist strap if you need it. Plus I have space to carry other items in the additional compartments.

The big boxes look great on paper but are worthless in the field. Heavy and combersome. They are however perfect for the studio photographer.

Cheers!
