A question to Arca owners with a (geared) Orbix®.

How is the Orbix mounted to the standart frame? might it be possible to remove it ? Would the standart frame be destroyed?

The background for my question: For various reasons, I would like to mount (or have mounted by a machinist) a geared Orbix to my 1980 6x9 Arca. Arca do not sell the Orbix separately. I might try to buy a current F-line used. If it has Orbix, I might detach it, then sell the camera again. If it has no Orbix, I might have it retro-ftted and then "steal" it, then sell the camera without it. If the new owner wants Orbix, he, too, can have one retro-fitted.

Thank you!

The Orbix is an integral part of the standard and can not be removed. Perhaps Bob Watkins at Precision Camera could retro-fit one to your standard. Or perhaps you could trade your old standard for one with Orbix.

Hi,
Last year I had Orbix put on my 171 F-metric and Bob Watkins was not yet able to do it, it had to go to France. There is no way to adapt this to the old 6x9..EC
