Tiffen 812 and 81B/C

forgive me if this is a really elementary question, but can someone please clue me in as the differences between the Tiffen 812 and a 81 series warming filter. reading through Dykinga's book, i noticed that he carries both, though they seem to be pretty close. is one more useful in certain circumstances?
